End-user license agreement

1. General

1.5 Extreme disruptive or offensive behaviour by a user, towards the developers or members of the community, may result in temporary or permanent suspension of the user's Live for Speed license.

Maybe users should be reminded of this agreement.

I hope these disruptive users are having there licences revoked , so they might think twice about wasting another £24, to then again get banned for disorderly behaviour.

Forbid them from connecting to the master server and let them play off line and crash the A.I.

Perhaps the list of banned users could be publicised as a warning and deterrent to others.

I know the Wrecker Barricade has gone someway to remove the nasty element, but there are still many servers that are unaware of this service.

Hope the developers are on the Barricade’s email list to witness the obvious, deliberate and malicious wrecking that goes on.

Part Worn Tyres
Turbo Dad

Quote from Flotch :the tires are the best (grip, handling,...) on the 3rd tire of the attached picture. The picture is taken at different stage of the race, the less rubber you have, the quicker you will be

...therefore part worn tyres should be implemented to be able to get the best from the tyres nearly right away, rather than running 20 laps to reduce the amount of rubber.

Yeah if we could get those fluids moving about /heating up ,it could have nice knock on effects to damage/performance
Quote from Vain :There was a discussion about this before that even talked about the possible implementation like an approximation of the fuel-height at a specific point of the tank Vain

Apologies if suggestion has been made before .Searched to no avail. Any links to previous discussion?

Fuel Starvation.
Turbo Dad

When down at the local track with my car, if the fuel level is below a 1/4 tank, when exiting the hairpin I get fuel starvation.

Not nice when you've been flying around for 5/6laps ,and then you get that horrible feeling when you put the foot down and the car starts accelerating, then suddenly seems like someone stamped on my brakes for a second before pulling away.

On my car the fuel pick up is on the front right of the tank ,as you accelerate out of the uphill right hander ,all the fuel rushes to the back left of the tank causing the starvation.
Fuel Starvation can also occur during sustained high G corners or heavy braking.

In addition, damage can arise as the engine runs lean momenterally, which could lead to pre-detonation or a big bang!!
Or extra opportunities for passing as the guy in front splutters for a second.

This would be nice touch in LFS and a disadvantage to those running with very little fuel.
Although probably not applicable to the gtr's/open wheelers as they would have some sort of fuel cell /surge tanks/electronic ignition cut

Quote from nutty boy :
Anyway I recalibrated it how you said, it worked until half way through the race when it broke again.

can you explain 'Broke' a little further??

also edited my post above to show how to lock the calibration

Go to options / controls /axes near the bottom there is a button that says recalibrate axis, press this.
Fully depress the accelerator pedal then release .
Then depress/release brake pedal.
Turn the wheel to full lock left
Then full lock right (watching the axis on the right of the screen to see which one moves when you turn the wheel)
Turn the wheel to the centre .
Then click on the small 'c' next to the axis that moves with the wheel (usually axis x)
This is if you have the axis set up correctly

edit* then press YES button on calibration lock to keep the new settings

i always like to look at LFS desktop to see mileage driven that day,but often the racing last's past midnight ,and the stats are reset for the day !
Is there any way to view the mileage from past day's?

If looking back at .mpr , how do you find out which server it was?

I have just started using Pit Spotter and find it really usefull for those blind spots.I find as your about to commit to a corner , when using look left/right buttons ,is pretty hard to keep a good line.Pit Spotter gives you nice warning for other drivers being next to you without distracting your view.
We are limited in our field of view in game, so people should be more aware what around them

Magic , have you used F1PerView or Analyse For Speed yet.
apparantly F1PerView can be used for checking suspension travel (and loads more) but i can't make head nor tale of it

Quote from MagicMarker27 : Is there a formula to use I.e. 180=3Hz, is that 180/60=3, or is it more complicated.

Correct 180 cpm (Cycles Per Minute)
therefore 180/60 gives you seconds
3Hz (cycles per second)

Thanks ,will try 3hz ,slightly more to front.
In regards to balance and roll stiffness , should I be looking at the percentage of roll stiffness (trying to achieve 50%)
Or should I be trying for rear roll stiffness/rear weight ratio to be the same as front ?

Quote from Forbin :Check/update your motherboard chipset drivers.

Had no idea i could do this ,thought bios was the only thing i could update.
Found the drivers eventually and it worked a treat.
thanks for your help
Current AGP speed 0X ? (Solved)
Turbo Dad
S2 licensed
Just got a 9600xt card, uninstalled old Nvidia stuff, used driver cleaner, installed new drivers in safe mode, everything seems to be working fine

My motherboard supports AGP4X, card AGP4/8X
Looking at ATI control centre it says the current AGP speed is 0X (zero)
But every time I move the slider up to increase speed , it ask me to reboot, then its back at AGP0X
Checked setup utility (bios?) and the only mention of AGP was the aperture size which was at 56mb (changed it to 256mb with no change)
Contacted Compaq live support who said “ the settings for this slot is prefixed and the system will recognize the card installed on the system accordingly. AGP is auto enabled. The system supports up to 4X AGP. Hence, the system will run with the speed”

Ran Everest system info and it said "Problem AGP is disabled. This may cause performance penalty."
Under AGP controller /status -disabled.
Supported AGP speeds 1X ,2X ,4X

Am I running at AGP0X ? if so can I change to AGP4X
Is the ATI control centre /Everest right. (or am I interpreting the results wrongly)

just got a 9600xt 256mb delivered (upgrading from a geforce 4 mx420)

Whats the best working driver now?

I am finding that if i try to balance the frequencies the front becomes too soft / the rear to hard
Or I have to add loads anti-roll bar to font which takes the anti-roll/spring roll stiffness ratio to high

I love the cookie safe. I block most cookies so it’s nice and easy to allow the ones I need.
I.E Tab :nice idea but read that it slows things up?
Customizegoogle + tab x : looks great about to try

Thanks for some great ideas

I already used
Adblock :but didn’t know about the updater
Disable targets for download :stops those blank windows
Downthemall :downloader thingy
Tab browser preferences
No script : don’t know if this is unnecessary ?
I.E View : handy for those sites that don’t like firefox
Smoothwheel
Flat bookmark editing: much easier
PDF download
Image zoom

Used to use forecastfox but when i had a browser window open when playing LFS, when it changed profiles i got big slow downs

Been looking at my set up with Colcob's analyser and it has helped a bit.

But unsure on the differences setting up a rear engined car to a front engined.
Should the frequencies still be similar, even though there’s a greater difference in weight distribution front to rear?

Took your advice and bought a creative radeon 9600xt 256mb for £26 and got my eye on a few local power supplies.
Hopefully should be here tuesday

What would be the best drivers to use with this card?
I know using the latest drivers for my geforce card wasnt the best, and I went back to old drivers with better results.
